Well Joyce and I met Ricky, his mom and Aunt while we shopped Thursday at the CGX... That was pretty cool and their friendship over the last few months over facebook got them a hug at their greeting not just a hello.. (I thought that was cool).... Joyce had been chatting/texting with another Prep by the name of Marjorie, and Joyce told me in the morning that she hoped they would be roommates either during this 11 days or at NMMI.
They took her from quickly after our 0930 arrival, I cried a few tears, but we had just met MDDad (another member on the forum) and and he got me squared away.
Then off to wander a little by myself and be sad, then at 11am we had a tour of the Campus, and I found out why the Cadet giving us the tour looked familiar... HE was in Tacoma last year when I was on the Eagle..
at a little after 1pm we had our little question and answer session, then at 230 we headed down to the Parade Deck for the Swearing In Ceremony.
A CG Helicopter landed on the Deck for the Ceremony, and it was pretty cool to have it as backdrop. I filmed .. then have 5 minutes....
Joyce had 5 minutes with me.... it was to quick, she ran up to me with a smile on her face and a tear in her eye... at the end of the 5 minutes she started to dart off, but I grabbed her and told her I needed a hug, got one and then she was gone...
I cried just a little watched her until she was gone, then I left the campus.. with pride and love in my heart and a tear in my eye I drove out of the gates. I talked to Shellz and PMLutton on my way back to Providence. When I got here I called home cried more...
then I went to the bar, ordered two shots of Southern Comfort then went to bed
I fell fast asleep
I'll be okay, and I know I left her in good hands.....and I know my dad is here watching over her
PS Joyce told me Marjorie will be her roommate during her stay at CGA !
