Chance me?

Actually, Service academies are looking for extremely qualified men and women of all races and nationalities to attend especially since the USA is made up of a very diverse population. Race has nothing to do with the opportunity. Only the ability to lead with integrity.
So now your attacking my integrity? You are very arrogant to judge that. I talked to admissions and they were not understanding of my situation and are maybe a little racist

Your comments come off as racist. Just because I am a minority and go to comm college makes you think you are better than me? You are the definition of what's wrong with America. What do you know anyways your just a Fox News lover

brovol's response to you was merely the facts. It had nothing to do with race. Nowhere in your original post does it indicate you're a minority.

The best advice you can get is from the folks on this forum. Many are current and former military that know their business. The parents and students also bring a wealth of knowledge to this forum.

If you truly aspire to attend a SA you'll listen to what they have to say.

Or maybe there are better applicants?
.
I am the best candidate but USMA will never know because I have been discriminated against. I have a 25 ACT and they scoffed at that but do they know my story? No they don't. I have been callled a leader but have never been given a chance

But he didn't give me any constructive criticism and only looked down on me

BobbyW123,

First of all, if you have read through some of the threads on this forum, sometimes folks come across a bit blunt, but they mean well and are trying to be honest.

Secondly, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a community college. My DD attended one during high school and received two degrees from it, and is now a 2020 cadet at USAFA. As a matter of fact, the online "homework" program used by her community college is the exact same one used by USAFA. Imagine her dismay when she knew she had to accomplish the same assignments! Community colleges can vary from area to area, but the ones around here are easily on par with the universities.

Previous posters are correct in stating that the few pieces of information you initially provided show lower scores/GPA than the typical appointed cadet.
HOWEVER, that should not deter you from trying and applying. If you truly are from an inner city, the academies will look at what was available to you in high school, which can explain the low ACT/SAT scores, and will also look at what you are doing now to improve yourself. Take the ACT/SAT again to see if you can bring the scores up since you now have some college courses under your belt.

I commend you for attending a community college to make something of yourself. The thing they will be looking at though, regardless of whether it is a community college or university, is are the courses you are taking the challenging courses such as Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, etc. versus non-STEM courses.

As a matter of fact, your circumstances and background can be used to your advantage as long as you can calmly explain how you have worked to rise above the challenging life you have had and are working hard to make yourself better.

One thing you will need to do, though, is try not to assume everyone is against you. If you come off this way to people with whom you must talk to and interview with, it will not get you anywhere.

I hope this helps a bit.

You were given an honest assessment. Many young people throw out their credentials on this forum and feedback is provided.
The feedback is straight forward and blunt. The feedback is not sugar coated.
It's up to you what you do with this information. Bring up your grades, study hard for the standardized tests, and practice for the CFA. The second post lists the profile of a class at USMA. Use this profile as a gauge for your improvement.
