Chance me?

BobbyW123,

Everyone here is trying to be helpful. You need to slow the roll and read what they write without the chip on your shoulder. Also, be advised that personal attacks on other posters will result in being banned. There are rules for posting on this forum. Good luck in your quest to be an officer.

What about the personal attacks against me saying I am not real? That is discrimination

A-ROTC Dad. Emily Perez is one of my favorite tales of heroism, service, and sacrifice. Bless her and her dear parents. There are no safe jobs. I love that you brought her example into this conversation. I would not have written otherwise, but I so admire her and use her as an example frequently. Like you, we are minorities at my house. I think the beauty of being on the web is that we can build relationships and no one can judge us based on the color of our skin or our ethnic origin.

Bobby, we're sorry if we come off harsh but we are all trying to help each other out on this forum and use everyone's opinions to all better ourselves.

With your behavior so far on this forum everyone has a perfect right to question your motives. Your behavior is not what is expected or allowed for a military officer, or someone who aspires to be one. Stop acting like a victim and learn about the process of applying to USMA. West Point is very embracing of minority candidates, but they still have to meet the minimum requirements for academics. The admission board will look at the "Whole Person" concept and take into account your circumstances, but you still need to meet the minimums. The admission process also includes several different interviews and your actions/attitude during those interviews has a large bearing on being offered an appointment. Once again, please stop and take the time to read everything that you can on here. There is a lot of information that answers your questions.

I have been judged and told I don't exist

Your right I need to make things happen. I will become the next great Obama

Bobby, Continue to overcome your adversity. Bring up your academics, and tell your story. Tell your story in your essays and interviews. A word of caution - do not come across as a victim, because it won't help you in the end.

Bobby,

I'm not necessarily a minority, but am female who has always worked in male dominated jobs. I did not come from an inner city, but a very poor background.

Something I have always told people who said I could not do something..." watch me". Channel your anger and background into the energy to be the best you can be because you are you; not because you are black, female, underprivileged, etc. You will gain a tremendous amount of respect for that.

I spoke to some middle school girls several years ago about entering fields not normally entered by girls...my biggest point and what stuck with them was my response when someone told me I couldn't do something..." watch me!"

Take this to heart and press forward.

Best of luck with your future endeavors.

On second thought, you are a perfect academy applicant; for the United States Naval Academy.
You know what brovol? I am sick of you degrading me as a person. You think your all that and a bag of chips when you not. How do you even know anything about West Point? Why degrade another great academy? You should be ashamed of yourself
