I am starting to put together my package for Air Force OTS and wanted to see what everyone says about my chances of being picked up.

Education
Degree: Civil Engineering
College: Florida State University
GPA: 2.9

Scores
AFOQT: P88/N27/A56/V39/Q72
PCSM: 51 (0 Flight Hours)
ABM: 69
CSO: 27

Application Info
I will be applying for Pilot, CSO, ABM and RPA but would I have a better chance of getting picked up as a Civil Engineer?
Age: 23
I was in the AFROTC for two years before I decided to save money and move back home to get my degree.

Given your scores, you aren't super competitive, but you likely already know that.

With a CE degree, you will be an AF Civil Engineer if you don't get picked up for a rated slot.

You'll probably wind up in CE, but definitely apply for the rated slot. Unless you hated your degree, you may wind up being glad you did-- young CE officers are probably among the most active in the USAF outside of Ops. Lots of deployments and unique opportunities. Very high demand career field and I've been told there is currently a decent bonus available.

You're young enough that you can always reapply for a UPT slot in the RC if you want after your ADSC is up.

It doesn't sound like you were contracted in AFROTC, but if you were, you will need a waiver as part of your ROTC package. Get your package together as quickly as possible. OTS is jammed full right now and dates are hard to get. Going CE will only help you at this point.

Good luck and thanks for considering the USAF again!

Thanks, I plan on getting quite a few flight hours between now and the board I apply for and I also have some pretty good letters of recommendation, for what it’s worth. My ultimate goal is to be an officer in the Air Force and I understand that it is totally the needs of the Air Force but my preference would be a rated position.
