As you will see from numerous “what are my chances?” Threads on this forum, there is no one here who can give you the answer you’re looking for. What I will add to that is - it looks like you have a solid academic background, leadership roles, and extra curricular’s.

All you can do at this point is focus on your high school experience. Don’t think about this application with every waking second of your day. It’s not worth it. You have a long way to go and the wait only gets harder.

Keep up the good work in the three areas I mentioned above, but at the end of the day, it’s all about winning your slate, and that is extremely variable.

I also wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to every athletic coach possible at USMA. The worst thing they can say is no.

As someone who has went through this process before, I hope that I was able to offer some valuable insight. Don’t hesitate to message me with any further questions.

best wishes! :)

keep at it - odds are zero if you don't apply and very slim even if you do so have backup plan

you might look at a team sport - others will disagree but it seems to me sports like track are seen as somewhat tier 2 sports unless of course you're good enough to be recruited as D1 athlete

Consider SMC ( via 4 year rotc scholarship ) and if you're not picky about major USMMA

Thanks!

And yes, as nice it would be nice to know at this moment whether or not I would get in, sadly this is not possible :( :biglaugh: but thanks for the feedback!

Ill keep focusing on the above for sure.

This is bad advice imo. If you are a D1 level athlete, contact the coach for that sport. Not sure what contacting all coaches would accomplish. Imagine if all applicants did this.

Well I think the point was to just get familiar with coaches and staff but I see your point as well (Don't want to be so much of a bother that you come in with unwanted attention!)- Thanks again for the advice

Bad wording on my part. I was referring to the coaches of sports you are involved in. I wouldn’t expect a swimming athlete to contact Coach Monken.

Thanks!

A lot has to do with the competitiveness of your Congressional district as well and the context of what appointment trends have looked like in the past from your region. If you're on this forum you're already a serious candidate who cares about their application so that's good.
