My daughter has these stats:
1. SAT 1430
2. Weighted GPA 4.15, unweighted 3.8 (till 9/10/11 grade), currently she is in 12th grade.
3. Genuinely good essays with extra activities. Run a sports club since 10th grade.
4. Attended Westpoint SLE in June 2022
5. Received Westpoint LOE in September
6. Physical test scores - passed during SLE (but not with high scores)
7. Parents are NOT in the Armed Forces

What are her chances to get an interview call for nomination and getting selected into the Westpoint?

There is absolutely no way to know.

Each elected official has their own selection process and criteria for nominations. Much will depend on who the competition is for this year; that is all the other applicants trying for a nomination to West Point in her state and District.

A nomination does not guarantee the offer of an appointment to USMA. It’s just one more thing the applicant needs to be eligible for appointment. West Point Admissions determines who will receive offers of appointment.

All she can do is submit her best applications for nominations and to West Point, tend alternate plans, continue working hard this year, go PT to manage stress, enjoy family and friends in what could be her last year at home.

There are other factors, which vary by MOC, such as:

1. Type and level of ECA participation
2. Demonstrated leadership potential
3. Courses taken vs available at the High School
4. HS Class Rank
5. Athletic participation
6. MOC may take other factors into account including demographics, from an under-represented HS, hardship cases, unique expirences, etc.
7. Essay performance

As @Capt MJ states: DD should tend to plans B, C & D. Be aware that many fully qualified candidates do not get Noms or Appointments, as the SA builds a class based on the service needs and objectives for that class. It is likely that some MOCs build their slates in a similar fashion-we don't know. We wish DD luck in the process.

She is certainly competitive, otherwise she would not have been selected for SLE and would not have gotten an LOE. Good luck!

It also depends on what area she lives in.

Some areas are more competitive for a nomination based on where she lives.

Ex. Norfolk is more competitive than Utah for a USNA nom.

No one really knows. Just put your best food out and thats all you can do.

What is important is that she apply to every possible source for a nomination. You have no way to know what the different offices and their committees will be looking for in a candidate. What she can control is putting together her best packet.
She should also apply to Army ROTC or just do Army ROTC at college for her reapplication during her freshman year of college--it provides another source of nomination.

Thank you for your comments. Can sh try for other district MOCs offices also?

If she diligently researches the individual elected officials’ websites, she will see that any residency requirement is specified.

USMMA applicants can apply to other Districts in their state, as a non-DoD school, but they don’t have the service-connected nom options.

Good to know. I didn't know that.
What about the senator? can we apply out of our state too?

USMMA (United States Merchant Marine Academy ) at Kings Point , a candidate can apply for a nomination to districts outside of their own within their state . For USMA (West Point ) , the candidate can only apply for a nomination in their own congressional district or for their state’s senators .
