Chances of ROTC Scholarship?

I'm sure a lot of people have done this, but can you give me advice as well? I'm a sophomore in high school and I plan on doing Running Start to finish high school with an AA. (Which is another thing I'm confused about, since ROTC is four years, right? How would that work?)
  • Varsity on swim team, JV on tennis
  • 4.0 GPA (so far)
  • 1400 on PSAT
  • 98 on the ASVAB
  • Secretary of Key Club, member of National Honor Society
  • Member of our school's honor band
  • Job as a swim instructor
My biggest worries are physical fitness. I'm taking a zero-hour weight-training class right now, and although I'm probably the strongest of the four girls in that class, I'm really not that much stronger. If it puts it into perspective I'm proud of myself for benching 3 reps of 70 pounds. My fastest mile time (during swim season, so I was pretty fit by my standards) is only 8:44 ish. My waist circumference is good for the test, but I'm really not that strong. What do you suggest? If I did get the scholarship, would I even make it through the training?

In regards to your fitness, you’re a sophomore. You have two years before you apply for an ROTC scholarship.
Get out and run as often as you can and do a whole lot of pushups and sit-ups.

Just my opinion, though.

Good luck.

No one can place your odds exactly as much of the evaluation is also based on subjective characteristics such as leadership, volunteerism etc.

What branch of ROTC are you interested in? Why exactly do you want to serve in the military? You mentioned becoming a PA in another thread. How does that correlate with your desire to serve?

I'm interested in Air Force, since that's the branch that both my grandparents (as pharmacists) were in. They got me into it, and I'm hoping that military can help me grow as a person and allow me to travel and pay for school too... although my academics are pretty good I want to get better at being a leader and just being mentally stronger (as well as physically I guess). Also my career guidance counselor said that the military can give PAs a lot more experience and value than in the civilian world?
Thank you for your reply I'll see what happens
