Who would be the right individual to contact if you wanted to switch majors?

Always start with the lowest rung in the Chain of Command. If they don't know they'll find out, tell you how to find out, or find out themselves... not necessarily in that order.

Random question- does your major have any affect on branching? I was thinking of switching to something along the lines of sport management because that is something I genuinely have a passion for, even though you'd have to land a cinderella job to have decent pay.

Your major doesn't dictate branching. You could major in gender studies and end up branching infantry if you wanted to. The only exceptions I can think of are if you plan on further education for select careers (educational delays for nursing, medical school, law school, etc) where it wouldn't make sense for the Army to put you in another branch.

JMHO, but I would think the only effect on branching would be if you wanted a "technical" field upon commissioning. Cyber, Engineering, Medicine, Law, etc I would think may not be available, at least right away unless you had a STEM major. Other than that, I would think 80% of the Branches would still be open. All the academies require a STEM foundation, even if you are in a non-STEM track, likely to ensure all graduates are able to compete for all Branches. Remember, the "new" Army Branching system gives a lot of input to the Branches, so taking a "basket weaving" track major may set you back in certain branches.
