Character Review Committee

I am XXXXX, Admissions Examiner, from the Office of Admissions at the United States Naval Academy.  In your record, it is stated that you were suspended from school in the 2007-2008 school year.  As a result, your record has been referred to our Character Review Committee.

Given the situation.. what exactly does this imply?

It means your file will be passed on to a special review board that looks at candidates who have been arrested or charged with crimes, broken rules resulting in punishments such as expulsion or suspension, or other reported misbehaviors that may show a lack of maturity, character, or honor.

It's one more hurdle to clear before a full appointment or permit-to-report is sent.

Happened to a friend's son who is now a plebe (Class of 2012). I'd advise you to be honest and forthright and focus on what you learned and how you're better for it -- assuming, of course, you DID learn from whatever it is (was). Good luck.
