Checklist before BCT

okay nevermind, Insider just said on the mailbox stalker thread that if you have a conditional appointment (which I do from having the Falcon Foundation scholarship) then they send the instructions to appointees packet later. Thought I would post in case anyone else was wondering the same thing.

A "bump" for this thread, which I for one have found very helpful! And an addition to the list...

1) Accept or Reject Appointment (online)
2) Vaccination Record (paper - to be emailed or faxed back to USAFA)
3) Uniform Sizing Measurements (paper)
4) Security Clearance (about 135 pages long so get started on it ASAP)
5) Foreign Language Placement Test (online)
6) Tattoo and Body Piercing Form (print and have ALO sign, fax back to USAFA)
7) Life Insurance Forms
8) AOG Membership (if you want to pay the least possible for it)
9) Armed Forces Bank account forms
10) Sponsor information/request form (paper--mail or email back)

can we bring a camera?

i was wondering if we were to bring a camera on I-day if we could have it after basic. Does anyone have any insight as far as rules go for cameras? i've seen someone's gopro video of the obstacle course but that could've belonged to an upperclassman

There shouldn't be any restrictions on cameras during the ac-year.

As far as I know, the only online placement test is the optional foreign language test. The other tests are given during basic.

Math Elam

Sorry about that, I should have said self-diagnostic exam to find any weakness so as to prepare for the placement test.
Regards
John

A solid math foundation, particularly in algebra and trigonometry, is critical to your success in the USAFA curriculum. You will take a significant number of technical courses that require a high level of quantitative proficiency. It is therefore imperative that you show up to USAFA “mathematically fit,” much as you are expected to show up physically fit. To this end, we provide a self-diagnostic exam and links to algebra preparation on our website (select the Placement Exam Preparation link at http://www.usafa.edu/df/dfms/) that enables you to identify fundamental areas of weakness so you can correct those deficiencies before arriving at USAFA. Time spent now can pay big dividends in your USAFA academics.

i've seen a video of i-day and in it most kids were just wearing shorts and a t-shirt, so would shorts and a polo be okay? or is a t-shirt a better choice.

can any cadets make any suggestions? thanks in advance

Math test isn't online, but I'm reminded of another...

1) Accept or Reject Appointment (online)
2) Vaccination Record (paper - to be emailed or faxed back to USAFA)
3) Uniform Sizing Measurements (paper)
4) Security Clearance (about 135 pages long so get started on it ASAP)
5) Foreign Language Placement Test (online)
6) Tattoo and Body Piercing Form (print and have ALO sign, fax back to USAFA)
7) Life Insurance Forms
8) AOG Membership (if you want to pay the least possible for it)
9) Armed Forces Bank account forms
10) Sponsor information/request form (paper--mail or email back)
11) Glasses prescription form (for those with glasses; emailed)

Also, afa, I think it doesn't matter. You just don't want to stand out.

I thank the appointees need a certified copy of their birth certificate or passport as well. I thank this is correct, does anyone know for sure?

should i just wait till acceptance day to have my parents bring my camera? also if i'm wearing a watch on the day i get to i-day will i get it back after acceptance day? it's just a small black g-shock, nothing fancy, but i've heard that it is really important to have a watch and never be late !

Love that GShock!

Ahh, the big black gshock. This generation uses their cell phones as a watch. It was like pulling teeth to get my DS to wear the gshock, but he was very glad he had it. As an added bonus, it really helped me locate him in his squadron within the thousands of WebGuy BCT photos!

didnt see it on any forms or i might have missed it - do we need passport sized pictures??

is everyone bringing cleats?

when is the first time one gets to shop for basic necessities at the store??

sunblock will be provided? ive seen yes and nos on the forums. do we need to put that on on I day?
