Checklist Deadlines

Received today by email, but this was based on original Nov 1 due date online:

--------
Thank you for completing your candidate kit on or before the 1 November 2021 deadline.

This deadline does not apply to your checklist items that appeared once you completed the candidate kit. If not already complete, you must complete the following items within two weeks after your deadline (by 15 Nov 2021): the Candidate Fitness Assessment and your ALO interview; your counselors also need to submit your transcript and associated academic information; the same is true for your evaluators. You should already have submitted at least one set of standardized test scores. We will continue to update any new test scores received by the testing agencies until 28 February 2022. If you choose, there is still time to register for the December test dates to improve your standing. We accept the ACT or SAT and we super score. The above items are essential in reviewing your file. Your file will not be reviewed by our Admissions Committee until these items are received.

The completion of your Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB) examination is critical to be eligible for an appointment. Your name was (or will be) forwarded to DoDMERB when you submitted your candidate kit. While the examination is not required by your deadline, Congressional legislation requires you to be medically qualified to receive an appointment. USAFA typically will not offer an appointment until we have a qualifying medical status on file. We understand this process takes time. Once able, immediately schedule your exam and follow up quickly on any questions you may receive from DoDMERB.

Continue to pursue all nominations for which you are eligible. If you receive a nomination, it will be posted on your portal. Congressional nominating authorities begin making their decisions in November and continue to submit their choices to us until 31 January 2022.

Refer to your "Instructions to Candidates", page 6, for further information on deadlines and requirements.

Good luck in your quest for an appointment to the Air Force Academy!

Best,

USAFA Admissions

I received this as well. Seems like those who completed the candidate kit by now should have received an email. I think a lot of this trouble is stemming from the fact that this is the first year using Force, the college application site, which is making everything screwy. My ALO can't see any of my test scores or anything associated with me aside from my name and email. Things are really weird, also with COVID still being an issue and everything going on. Hang tight all, this will all be sorted out soon.

All,

The candidate kit deadline does not apply to the checklist items. See page 6 of your Instructions to Candidates.

Here is the scoop.

This deadline does not apply to your checklist items that will appear once you complete the candidate kit. The completion of your Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB) medical examination is critical to be eligible for an appointment. Your name will not be forwarded to DoDMERB until you submit your candidate kit. While the examination is not required by your deadline, Congressional legislation requires you to be medically qualified to receive an appointment. USAFA typically will not offer an appointment until we have a qualifying medical status on file. We understand this process takes time, so we encourage you to finish your candidate kit so we can forward your name to DoDMERB.
