Hello,
I am a class of 2026 candidate for USAFA, and my application is completed. However, there are a few things remaining unchecked on my checklist. I am a dual enrolled student, I take a math class at a local university and have taken about 5 dual enrolled classes at a local community college. I put this down in my application and two transcript requests for both schools showed up on my portal. I have emailed twice as I realize a transcript from the uni is not required for dual enrolled students but they remain on my checklist with a big red x. Thoughts??

How did you get your Nomination and medical X's to turn green? I probably will not get medically qualified until after the deadline, November 1, nor will I be nominated before then. As for your question, I have taken dual enrollment classes as well. However, I have not received a request for a transcript from the college I do DC at. Those grade should be on your high school transcript.

I did my medical very early it has been green for about a month now but my nomination still isn’t green I just assumed everyone’s would be red.

Ok. I started my medical two months ago but I have been in remedial for 5 weeks. Hopefully I get it worked out.

I would call admissions and see if they can fix it.

Your application deadline is generally for things you control.

Nomination slates aren’t due from elected officials to the SA until after the New Year, though some may submit earlier. For any other types of noms, as long as you have submitted what you need to by any deadlines, you have completed what you can control. Think about this - literally hundreds of slates with up to 10 names on each are flowing toward Admissions. There are not hundreds of people standing by to update the related hundreds of application records. Data will be entered at a rate that assures accuracy, which will eventually be reflected in admissions files and candidate-facing portals.

Your medical will be done when it’s done, as long as you haven’t dragged your feet on scheduling and completing what you control. Some applicants will be working on/waiting for resolution of medical issues into the late spring.

We were told by admissions that college transcripts are required for DE classes. I (the school counselor because he is homeschooled) got an email a couple days after he submitted his application requesting his college transcripts.

The problem is one of the DE classes I’m in right now. The transcript wouldn’t be available/final until December.

Fmbr, pretty sure you can update all the way into the new year. Last year my son sent in his transcripts reflecting his DE class he was taking and finished in the fall. USAFA was really great about it. Just reach out to admissions to see if it's the same this year. :)

So if I just leave it on my checklist past the deadline, there will be no penalty? I’m wondering if my application will be regarded as incomplete.

Fmbr.. I would suggest reaching out to admissions about your portal issues. For clarification: My son submitted his transcript with DE classes both from the HS and from the College. He contacted USAFA admissions, to let them know that he finished his fall DE class in December. They updated his portal to reflect the new GPA and completed class. If you contact admissions they can probably help you update your information after you complete your current course. Hope that helps!
