Hey everyone, its me, Chockstock. I think many of you know me but if you don’t, I’m a cadet candidate for the Class of 2014. I’m here to say farewell and thank SAF as well as say a few things.

I know R-Day is still more than two weeks away but I’m boarding a plane in about 4 hours. I’ll return to the US in time for R-Day but it’ll be nearly immediately before so I decided that now would be the best time.

First things first: some of you might think that I’m that kid who asks too many questions, has the maturity level of a 5th grader, the dumbbutt who doesn’t know history all that well, or just that weird, brooding stranger who writes odd things. I’m not. Looking back, I’ve let my personal life intrude too much of my school/work life. Of course it’s no excuse to be an idiot, but I learned. As a cadet and hopefully an Army officer, it would be unprofessional and unacceptable and so I look forward to better days ahead.

Now that’s off my chest… THANK YOU! You’ve all been a great help and I mean it. I didn’t think it would be possible to find role models over the internet but I did. It was fantastic to have adults, parents and older graduates provide the rest of us with advice and intelligence (I enjoyed watching the hot debates from the sidelines ). This includes current cadet(s) and young graduate(s). I look up to all of you.

To my fellow cadet candidates – its almost here! The moment we’ve been waiting for…I hope we’re all emotionally and physically prepared for the summer. Before we go, I wish everyone would take a moment to just be grateful about the opportunity we’ve all been granted. When I think of all the disadvantaged kids around the world and even here in our own country, it makes me want to work harder for them. When I think of the young men who lost their lives in America’s battles, it makes me want to work harder for them.Lets put forth the best effort in memory of those who gave their all so that we could. Beat Navy, vampsoul, other appointees…good luck!

I hope I can return with a little more sense and try to help, not be helped. I look forward to better assisting 2015 and beyond hopefuls. This has honestly been one of the most helpful, cleanest forums I’ve used and I encourage everyone to utilize it more often. Thanks to all the moderators and admins who make it possible.

Also, here is my email: openthedam@gmail.com. I was just thinking about writing a bunch of things about me, but it’s the internet after all . Contact me with questions or I can tell you about myself in greater detail . It would be nice to meet remarkable individuals on this forum instead of hiding smugly behind our computer screens.

Goodbye, and until we meet again, to your health and happiness! I hope this post wasn't as corny as I hoped. I look forward to sharing my experiences and (hopefully) some pictures. God bless you and the United States.
