CFA 1:
  1. 71ft basketball throw
  2. 82 sit-ups
  3. 58 push-ups
CFA 2:
  1. 79ft basketball throw
  2. 76 sit-ups
  3. 63 push-ups
Takeaways:

I took the CFA twice and wanted some advice on which score I should go with. I improved my basketball throw by 8 feet and push-ups by 5 reps on the second attempt, but I lost 6 reps on the modified sit-ups. The scores for the pull-ups, shuttle run, and the mile remained the exact same.

Try searching for CFA posts recently. Someone (a “seasoned” poster on here but I forget who) said the push-ups are a main scoring leg of the CFA. I’m pretty sure in the same post someone said the BB throw doesn’t weigh as much.

I honestly have never heard of anyone taking the CFA multiple times and then picking the one they wanted to submit.

You practice and practice and when you feel that you’re ready you take the CFA with your proctor and they submit the scores. Then, if USAFA wants you to take a second test they will let you know.

The CFA packet states that "As test administrator, you will need to enter the scores online within 48 hours of the test. Please enter the date the test was taken and not the date you entered the information into our system."

I'm not sure when you took the two CFAs, but my guess is that you did not take them within 48 hours of each other, so you might not have the option on which CFA to submit. But with this in mind, I think that CFA 2 looks better (because you have higher scores in 2/3 events when compared to CFA 1).

Hope this helps:)

Well, that makes it easy, I guess. I definitely did not take the CFAs within 48 hours. Thanks for the info.

Well, hopefully the last one was within the past 48 hours and your proctor can get it submitted right away, or you’ll have to do it a third time to get your official result to submit.

My administrator submitted a week, after which is kind of late but they accepted.
