I just finished my application for the citadel for 2013! I have everything finished with my marine option package for my NROTC scholarship app., and all I have left is my interview with the army PMS at the citadel in august! Ugh now the agony of waiting..aha oh well I guess at least everythings done now.

Good luck to you. Please post as you progress thru the process.

I got accepted last week, it's my fifth choice, but at least its a start.
1. USAFA
2. USNA
3. USMA
4. Drexel
5. The Citadel
6. Norwich University

My son got accepted the first week of September, then just got a letter asking him to apply to the Honors Program. The Citadel is his 3rd choice after USMMA and USCGA.

I got accepted the beggining of august.
now im just waiting on rotc scholarships.
have a really good shot at cga but im starting to really like the citadel!:shake:

I was accepted back around august and i'm heading down thursday for the pre-knob visit, anyone know what to expect?

Gtwright11, congrats on your acceptance! Try your best to just watch, listen & learn. Don't wear anything that might draw attention such as JROTC items or letter jackets. Pay close attention to what happens at meal times & follow the Knob's lead not the upper class. If your Knob host is addressed by an upper-classman in your presence, try not to make eye contact. LOL Seriously though, hope you enjoy sitting in on some of the classes and seeing the great campus. Keep an open mind and remember that this time of year, the Knobs are ready for a much needed break. If you are able, do stay for the formal parade. Its very impressive. We have a current Knob who sometimes posts here & I hope he will see your question in time to answer a few of your concerns before you go. If not, please post back when you return & share your thoughts. Good luck to you & welcome to the forum!

My son was accepted two weeks ago and we took a quick trip up last Friday (in the rain! lol) to make a decision. He loved the place and took the acceptance and we left a deposit.
Now he's waiting on the results of the NROTC Marine Corps option :thumb:

Status changed today to: You have been offered an Army AROTC Scholarship pending DoDMERB and the schools are
UCF, The Citadel, Embry Riddle, Virginia Tech and USF!

The Citadel will be his choice.

Congrats! I have my interview in two mondays for AROTC. How long after the interview did it take to find out?

I had my interview in August like the 28th, and My app. package didnt go in until the October board, and my status just changed today

WHAHOO! Many congrats Maximus & son! :thumb::thumb::thumb:

Thank you very much! My son is ecstatic and as I've mentioned before, it's softening the blow from getting a DoDMERB DQ for the USNA. Now he's waiting for the NROTC MC Option Board results from last week. He's also waiting for a waiver for the USNA and has a Nomination but, he realizes that's a long shot. We will have much to celebrate and be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

Maximus and others... who is definitely going to be Citadel 2013?

And what state are you coming from?

What are your career goals?

What makes The Citadel your first choice?

Hi everyone

I got the NROTC Marine Option Scholarship for 09 with Citadel as my number one. Haven't recieved it as my school yet, and I shouldn't know until late Spring. All I know is I have the scholarship. I know that 90% of the people in my region recieved their first choice of school last year, and my first choice was the Citadel. Anyone else plan on being there for Class of 13 Marine Option? I do realize that many haven't recieved their results back yet. Good luck to all.

TJ

We are still waiting to hear from the NROTC Marine Corps Option but my son is definitely going to the Citadel with his AROTC Scholarship. He's waiting on a waiver for the NROTC. His plan is to major in Physic but I've told him to think about it for at least the first semester. Besides, the first semester is about the same for most majors any way. You'll all change your mind a few times.

His says he wants to make a career as a military officer, Army or Marines.

thats an awesome career choice... VERY different....
Does he know what he would like to do in those services???

mwbluebeard,
i've pretty much decided on the citadel and am looking forward to going there. I'm from connecticut so south carolina gonna be a bit different lol. my eventual career goal is to become a veterinary officer in the army. The citadel's my top choice right now because i want a college where i'm going to be challenged and pushed to do better. i really couldn't see that same kind of dedication instilled in me if i went to a regular college. by the way is anyone going to a scholarship compition at the citadel during january, they sent me an offer and i was just wondering how many people would be there?
