Citadel Knob Year

Host families are locals who sort of adopt a cadet (or several) and include them in holiday plans, have them over on the weekends, help them get to any off campus appointments, etc.

A Brand New Citadel Mom!

3. How many knobs "whimp out" and quit because they can't take it? Our family is tough... I don't think my son will have a problem.

CitadelMom: I can answer your Question No. 3 - it is part of the data set all colleges and universities must provide as public information. Freshmen retention at The Citadel is 86% - well above the national average for public and private colleges and universities. See following national data from 2016: https://nscresearchcenter.org/snapshotreport28-first-year-persistence-and-retention/

The Evening Undergraduate Program is only open to those having an Associates Degree from a South Carolina school. Don't make the classic mistake of thinking Conroys books are an accurate description of the current knob year, he was a cadet 55 years ago and his books are novels that contain plenty of dramatic license.
