Hi - I'm banging my head on my keyboard trying to find that post a couple of months ago where someone asked when the Civil Prep folks would receive their appointments to USMA. Just to clarify, I'm not looking for when (time frame) candidates receive Civil Prep offers; I'd like to know when they actually receive their appointments to the class of 2021.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Yes, I was offered an AOG scholarship. Looking forward to attending Northwestern Prep and eventually a class of 2022 entry!

DD also offered AOG and she was told that appointments for AOG candidates would come late March to early April.

Maybe this will hold true and they were giving worst case scenario :)

Hi - Are we still looking at late March to early April for AOG? Thanks in advance!
Not really sure, there has been some talk (according to DD) that they may come as early as next week. WP Admissions is making a visit and maybe it's just wishful thinking on AOG's part, but they hope he's bringing BFE's with him.

One way or another I believe the AOG's will have their appointments in February.. If not getting them next week hopefully they will be reassured that they are taken care of and the delay is just slotting as has been posted by others on these forums previously. The question will certainly be asked.

If none of the above I can see the anxiety level at MMI escalating.

Hi Parent of 4 - Pardon my ignorance, but what's meant by "slotting?" Thanks!

With AOG's there are several options as far as nominations they are eligible to receive. My understanding is as they build the class they decide which nomination or "slot" to use for them. It has no bearing on the candidate but enables W.P. the opportunity to admit other deserving candidates as well.

This is a great way to explain it—for those who are on AOG scholarships and have been waiting a year and a half or longer now—that requires so much determination and I look up to the cadets at the Academy now who have done it. Not only them...I look up to the kids who are doing it right now—the ones that will be going to West Point and graduating in 2022 and the ones who won’t for whatever reason. And you parents who have been holding out for your kids and their dreams...it must be anguish. I hope you hear soon. I was fortunate to have a brief wait and that was killing my mom!!! Remember that AOG chooses these kids because they believe in them...they deserve that scholarship and so much more.

What a strong and amazing group of people...

I truly hope I meet some of you parents, and I’ll certainly go out of my way to meet the AOG kids in my class!

Best wishes for you all :D

And, one thing we all agree on no matter our status in admissions:

Beat Navy!!!!!!! ;)

I wish it was only a year and a half. This has been a goal since DS was in 9th grade. It feels like we have been waiting for an appointment since then. Hopefully for us and for everyone who has been striving for this good news is coming soon.

Seriously, good luck to all of you.

I wish they gave AOG, current enlisted, USMAPS, and college students their offers first, as in most cases they have been waiting longer (definitely the case for AOG and MAPS)...I know that the wait is the way it is because of nominations but I really hope your news comes soon!

The anxiety level outside MMI is high too. [emoji16] I have a few girls there that are daughter's of friends ( and friends of my current WP DD) and we are on pins and needles for them as well....Get that BFE already and get up to your Rockbound Highland Home, will ya!!!

According to the USMAPS Facebook, they received their appointment certificates around mid-May 2017 last year. That's a long wait!

Same for USNA Napsters--they have to wait until the beginning of May--a week before their NAPS graduation!
