Class Exemplars

I was wondering what the process is for choosing a class exemplar?
Does the class nominate individuals, or are some provided by USAFA? Does the class vote as a whole?

Also, who is the exemplar for 2013?

Whole class votes, you find out after recognition.

individuals research people and propose them to the committee, people from that class with officer oversight. the committee then provides a quick brief to the class describing each person, and the class votes. the class finds out when they recieve their A-jackets at the conclusion of Recognition with the class examplar's name above the class year

When you say 'officer oversight' is that a small group of the class that 'nominates' potential exemplars?
