You are very welcome! I am guessing your DS is anxiously looking forward to his PROTRAMID (Professional training for Midshipmen) this summer. Did he put in for east coast or west?

Book lodging/AirBnB/HomeAway now.

Home football game weekends are popular USNA reunion weekends. Those happen throughout the season, not just in the designated Homecoming weekend.

Classes tend to take over entire hotels, with blocks reserved well in advance.

ktnatalk, hopefully DS selected San Diego since we're in so-Cal. DS has already told us what he requested for summer blocks (PROTRAMID 3rd block), but as noted in another string on this forum, Semper Gumby! We'll just wait and see what happens.

+1 Capt MJ, already reserved our hotel!

My source says 3rd block is in San Diego. Hope no surprises and he gets his wishes! :thumb:

Probably due to the huge popularity of PROTRAMID in San Diego he got bumped...Does he have a block of internship and a block of leave?

If DS' schedule remains unchanged he will be a detailer 2nd block and have leave 3rd block.

Congrats for the detailer duty! Tough but he will learn a lot. Welcome to round two of (easier) waldo hunting! :)

2nd block detail is a good one. It's first set detail. Each set has its pros/cons. So he will get to do the tear down phase of new Plebes. I Day is fun as a detailer. Leave 3rd set also allows a little recovery time after no sleep and probably The Plebe hack he will pick up too. It's a great learning experience and will challengr his patience and creativity!

Is SD definitely 3rd block? Just curious as someone I know was trying for it and thought it would be 2nd block.

First block is on the east coast and second and third blocks are on the west coast.

NavyHoops, its mind boggling to think 2 summers ago DS was a plebe - wearing BCGs, uncomfortable and ackward in his white works, looking like an ugly duckling. Watching the ceremony on T Court, we were in awe of the detailers when they marched in unison, dressed in their summer whites. Looking back at that day, it didn't occur to me that it was possible DS would have the incredible responsibility of being a detailer. I was just praying he would finish PS! I wish I could attend c/o 2021 IDay to experience it from a different POV.

You definitely could. Even better, you could be the one the parents of Plebes looking at, conversing causally with the detailer in charge of their Plebes in formation at T court a couple weeks later! :)
