High school seniors celebrate acceptances here!
Will you go there?
Which ROTC branch will you choose?
 
Acceptance!!

My son got his appointment letter from VMI today! We are so proud of him.

He is still waiting to hear about the ROTC scholarships to help pay for it, of course. We hope to hear something by Christmas on those. :biggrin:

you must be so proud of your son! :) And proud you should, rumor has it that class of 2009 2010 & 2011 is and will be the hardest applicant pool ever for college. Especially in terms of SA and SMCs.
Did he ED?
 
He did not ED, which is why we were surprised to hear back so soon. We have much to be thankful for, that is for certain.
 
Citadel acceptance

My son was recently accepted at The Citadel. It's the only school that appealed to him enough for him to visit it twice.
Now we're waiting for Army ROTC scholarship news.

I got accepted to the Citadel on November 20th, I am now in the process of finishing up my application for the NROTC scholarship (marine option.) I will be evaluated this Saturday with the PFT and an interview with an officer.
 
Oh I thought you were going to say VMI in which case I would be very suprised. December 08 and STILL no word haha I better start applying other places. . . I talked to my guidance counselor and he said its quite unusual and that he will call in for me and ask. I don't know if that's normal, but he said it would be fine.

Today I was shaking when I came home because when I checked my mailbox it was empty and I knew rejection would put so many of my close ones down. However once I inserted my key into the door and went inside I found a big envelope waiting for me inside.

Well- congratulations NROTC-H! Enjoy the rest of senior year while you contemplate the upcoming joys of "Ratdom"!:eek:
 
There is no VMI Class of 2014 until Breakout. I wouldn't advertise as being a member of a class that does not exist. When you become a Rat, you will be a part of the Rat Mass of 2011+3. You have to earn the right to be the Class of 2014. This is kind of a big deal at VMI.
