I got a letter in the mail from the academy a little over a week after I sent in my preliminary application, and I was made a candidate. They gave me an account name and password to use on the usna.edu website, and when I typed in my info it wouldn't work. Is anyone else having trouble logging in?

I don't think the academy's application website is open to 2016 applicants until April. Currently, they are still processing 2015 applicants. Believe it or not, it's still not too late for a 2015 applicant to begin their application.

You'll discover that around April 1st (April Fool's day) that your password will work.

To log-in to your candidate information system, you only need your first name, last name, last 4 digits of SSN, and the candidate number they gave you. I don't remember having a user name and password for anything, unless I'm mistaken? You click on Admissions and click "Candidate Information System" link and that brings you to the page.

Class of 2013 had a password as part of log in. Call Admissions and ask. Then, grasshopper, let us know what you learn!

Okay I'm almost positive I know what you are talking about. Is there a box that pops up that asks for an the account name and password?

I received a username and password to log in to my candidate's page. I have them saved on my computer so I don't type them in anymore but they are required everytime you check your candidate's status.

Not sure it is wise to post password on the internet.......use the private message option for such things!

It doesn't really matter. Even if someone obtains the user name and password, unless they have a first name, last name, social security number, AND candidate number, they can't access anything.

Hey, it started working now...I'm not sure why my name and password wasn't working before, but I can now access everything I need to in order to get this whole application process rolling.

    Thanks for the help everyone!

Well, josh, I understand that. However, I have to assume if USNA Admissions is utilizing a password, they must have a reason and likely don't want it published on the internet.
