Class of 2015 - Mailbox Stalkers Club

Ok, it's bad now.... I just checked the usps website to calculate how long it will take for a large envelope to arrive here from the Academy. It says 2 days.... I may just have to run home at lunch to check today's mail. LOL!

My husband told me he heard rumors of them not notifying until April. New admission's director.

Zoloft should take the edge off a bit...still the walk to the mail box is a good for you. Just remember....there are thousands of us mailbox stalkers out there.

My DS said last night that if he gets an appt that after screaming he doesnt want to talk about this for a week. Because its all weve been talking about lately. The what if scenarious are burning a hole in our living room.

I'm not a parent, but this is funny. I've banned my girlfriend from asking any "what if" questions about the AFA and my plan-B AFROTC scholarship. The same questions can be asked without the "if" when I find out about both :yllol:

Having gone through this process twice now (letter of decline last April 1, 2010, Falcon Foundation Scholarship offer April 3, 2010, Appointment March 1, 2011) my words of advice are to just keep singing "whatever will be, will be. The future's not ours to see...." There is nothing you can do at this point in the process and the stress in the family is no good for anyone!! Just make sure your candidate has a plan B, we were so sure of USAFA last year that we missed most scholarship deadlines for other schools.

Does anybody else go through bouts of denial? At least once a week I have to mentally prepare myself for getting that TWE. And at least once a week I go insane with wanting that BFE more than anything ever. I've even gotten my mom to start stalking the mailbox for me while I'm at school.
And RyWalk I'm the same way. If another friend asks how it's all going, I'm going to lose it. :yllol:

AHHHHHHH. Waiting is the worst invention. EVER.

If another friend asks how it's all going, I'm going to lose it. :yllol:

"Hey Ryan, you hear back from the Air Force yet?"
"Nope, still waiting"
"Oh. What are you gonna do if you don't get in?"
:bang:

Hey guys! how's it going?! OK - not funny....Just stalked my mailbox. Nothing today - so next mailbox stalking will likely be Wednesday of next week after the Monday board. See you all then....

Yeah, nothing in our mail either. DS's birthday is Monday so a BFE or a phone call would be spectacular!

Glad to have a place on this forum to call home. Of course, hopefully I can move on to the appointment thread soon.

Hey guys! When I got my call on Monday night, I received the BFE on the Thursday and an update on my status online on the Friday all in the same week. I thought I should give you guys a timeline maybe it would help out with the anxiety!

Best of luck to us all!

Exact same situation here - talk to you on Wednesday! :D

Keeping my fingers crossed for the BFE/phone call!

I can agree with just about everything in this thread! I've been driving myself crazy for the past several weeks... It helps keep me sane knowing that there's a lot of qualified candidates in the same boat. Every time the phone rings now I practically jump out of my seat!

Okay, I got a phone call last Thursday (March 3rd) from the Representative's Office telling me to keep an eye on the mail for my appointment. But my online status still says "Candidate".
