Class of 2015 - Mailbox Stalkers Club

Glad to see *NAW spreading around. That's a fun weekend to invite any scouts to, Cub Scouts love it.
Good luck to you too, I hope to be meeting you in Colorado this summer :thumb:

Just a change of pace

Since we all seem to be waiting on the AFA. Has anyone heard back about their colleges?

Plan B

DS is in at UC Santa Barbara (early notification), waitlisted at Cal Poly SLO for Computer Science.

Those are great schools! We used to live in CA - Sacramento. We live back east now. My DS has been accepted to Brandeis, Norwich ( An SMC - with a strong corp of cadets), and Clark University. Still waiting on other schools but we're good with what options we currently have.

Plan B

Great options as well! I think the best part about this time of the year is knowing that they WILL be going to college somewhere!!! If it's their first choice - even better! :thumb:

BYU baby! the number one non-party school in America! West Point is number 2! lol. I don't know where the AFA is on that list :shake:

LOL. I met a bother and sister team who both attended BYU. The brother is graduating from West Point this year. The sister is still at BYU. Two of the nicest and best looking kids I have ever seen. Really - these two are jaw dropping when they enter a room.

There are lists online, the schools are also among the top ten for dry campuses, smoke free, and I think best or most reliable dining.

Ya BYU wouldn't be bad by any means, but it wouldn't really help me become an astronaut or B-2 spirit bomber pilot... lol

Well, I have enjoyed reading this thread! I thought I would join the" mailbox stalkers club"
DS is waiting also for plan A&B. He has C-F covered lol. Like falconfamily we are on the East side of the country. DS has been accepted to, Clarkson U, Hofstra, Hartwick, and UB. If A or B do not work out, he is planning to attend Clarkson.
Good Luck to everyone who is still waiting! Hang in there. rangermom

Hi Rangermom! Mom from VA here.....DS waiiting waiting waiting on TWE or BFE (hopefully BFE!). Plan B: already accepted to School of Engineering at Virginia Tech where he will do AFROTC and Corp of Cadets if BFE does not happen. There was no plan C, D, E or F so a big sigh of relief when BFE from Va Tech arrived! Good luck to your DS and to all mailbox stalkers on this thread! :)

Hi vamom!!! Nice to met you. Congratulation's to your son as well!!!These are such exciting times for our kids. My son was acceppted to the School of Engineering at Clarkson U. He is so thrilled. We are in the same boat as you and your son waiting for the TWE or BFE however, did the same sigh of relief when the BFE from Clarkson arrived! Good luck to your son and everyone here who is still waiting!!!!

still waiting to hear from UVA, Davidson and Holy Cross. I'm a transfer so I wont hear for a while probably.

Good luck bjschick! You are right....the waiting is bad enough for HS seniors but for xfer students it is excruciating!

Second excruciating wait for me. A friend of mine is on his third. Not fun, but worth it.

13,000 applicants!? Does that include those who weren't nominated?

I'm guessing that is does. They must be looking at those who fell through the cracks and didn't get nominations. Then they can apply a VP nomination to them.

I may be mistaken (wouldn't be the first time), but my understanding was that a VP nom is attached to a person just like the MOC nom....it's just that the VP noms can be prioritzed by the AFA. I was told that NO ONE can get an appointment without a nom attached to their name.
