Congratulations to the newest VMI class in barracks- the class of 2017 which ceased being a Rat mass yesterday. Good job and don't let your focus slip this semester- you still have a long way to slog, but your first big hurdle is behind you.:thumb:

New Cadet reported that breakout was incredible in every possible way. Also said something to the effect that if he could still feel his legs they would probably really hurt:eek:

That's funny KarenH, I spoke to my DS (New Cadet) yesterday. He was in good spirits but pretty sore as well. He said his neck/traps were pretty sore from doing a few hours of log PT throughout the day. His Dyke had him do 2014 push-ups during resurrection week (Mon-Fri, 403 per day) in addition to some other stuff like getting a "rat baptizing" in the icy river. I've never seen a person so proud of a black name tag and a coffee mug though. When I asked him how hard it was on a scale of 1-10 he said a 10.5 Now he's hoping his body will recover quickly because he has to do his "max's" (maximum amount of weight he can lift) during football training this week. It was great to see the since of pride and accomplishment on his face though. VMI truly has tested him and all the cadets I'm sure. Congratulations to your DS and all the cadets who finished the ratline this year. One of many accomplishments to come over the next few years.

congrats '17!

be glad barracks does not smell like it did feb 21st 1979

And that was back when the Rat Line had already gone to hxxx!! Let me tell you about when breakout was really tough!!

Seriously- congratulations to all the of the new 4th Class Cadets of the Class of '17!. Next year you will be taunting the Rats with stories of how much harder your Rat line was then it is now and how it has all gone soft! It's the nature of the beast- but it is all in good fun amongst fellow Ratline survivors. (Just as the back and forth between Citadel and VMI alums is teasing between two groups who respect each other because we understand and have lived thru similarly challenging experiences!) Now buckle down and hit those books, because the Academic Ratline goes on!
