Let the waiting begin

My DS went to STEM and Summer Seminar and has a MOC nomination in hand (although not showing on admissions website yet) and a completed application. Will need a medical waiver but football injury is minor and dont expect a problem. Question, how can we determine if he has secured at least 2 of the 3 Qs? Otherwise just waiting on a BFE.

Last year our DS contacted his BGO--while he couldn't say, "Yes he's 3Q" he was able to imply based on his stats and previous years he was competitive. Not sure if that's the best way to go, but worked for DS. Just look at stats from previous years compared to your DS's--should give you a pretty good idea.
 
bcope, from what I understand 1 of the 3 Q's are physical and if he passed the CFA at the summer seminar than he is physically qualified but I don't know how to determine if you are academically Q'd. What are his act/sat scores and what was his injury?
 
Happy but curious

My son has an LOA and a nomination from both Senators. He received a letter today from one of his Senators congratulating him on his appointment to the USNA. He is very happy but is wondering why a letter from MOC before hearing from Annapolis? Are we getting the cart ahead of the horse?

DS heard from MOC before the BFE arrived that he had earned an appointment last year. Have read that MOC are sometimes informed of appointment so they may congratulate the candidate. Congratulations!!

naval padre did your senators not know he had an LOA? Never heard of an LOA recipient being double nominated before.
 
Nr116; yes they both knew about the LOA. Not sure why they both nominated him. DS will reach out to our congressman to bow out of his interview scheduled for this Sat.

DS got letter from MOC yesterday advising him of Nom for USNA. 3Q so has good chance for appointment. Waiting to hear from Senators for other Noms.
