In the past appointees found that out when they receive their mailing address during Plebe Summer from admissions.

Sister companies are combined into one during PS. e.g. If your PS address says C-6, you will be in Charlie Company during PS and 6th Company during the academic year. Many talks today about possible mandatory changing up companies in the future. Do not let things that you have no control bother you.
 
I do not believe I should reveal the name, nor would I, but my son knows an appointee from Iowa who told him he is declining his appointment. So, take that hearsay for what it is worth, particularly if you were waiting in Iowa. I do not know the slate.
 
Does anyone know for the immunization sheet:
I gave DS Doctor the form to fill out & he hands me printed copies of son's immunization stapled to PTR immunization form with please see attached written across the form? Is this acceptable?
 
The form says that no attachments will be accepted. Worse case scenario, they will just give your son the immunizations again

Why don't you go back and ask a nice nurse to copy the info and sign off on it. I'm sure somebody there will be accommodating since it is for a service academy. You would at least hope!
 
Blessedmom, to answer your question: it's really horrible - DS had shots in both arms, plus when they drew blood they had to try more than once. When we met up with him after the I Day oath ceremony, he said the shots made it difficult for him to lug that big white laundry bag full of stuff!

Does anyone have specific documentation for the TB test results? DD'S physician just marked on the yellow form date of test, date of results and 0 mm indicating negative for TB. Should there be something else?

Did you know what shots your DS was missing? I've asked the nurse if DS was missing anything...she said he was up to date except for meningitis which is due next year 2017? Should I be concerned as to what is missing? I really don't want him to get any shots on I-day? Is there a website I can look to see if he has received all necessary vaccine required by USNA before I-day??

Also, why would they take blood on I-day?
 
Blessedmom, I assumed he was up-to-date on his shots since he was a Foundation prep and had to undergo a physical and update his immunization record before being cleared to live in the prep school residential hall. He received his PTR packet while at his prep school and completed the immunization form and eye exam while there (the school helped the preps). We didn't know until after the I Day ceremony when he told us. He said he had a tough time carrying his bag with both arms, and DS is not one to complain. Also, during one of his calls home during PS he said he received at least one more shot (could have been more).

I don't know why or how much blood was drawn, or even if it actually happened. Maybe a small vial? I am just sharing what he said. We only had about 20 minutes with him and he was already anxious and tired. His white works had long sleeves so we couldn't see his fore arms or shoulders. But I remember giving him a gentle good bye hug and not a big squeeze because his shoulders hurt!

I looked up a Class of 2017 Permit to Report package. Blood is drawn for HIV testing, required within 72 hours of entering into active duty status. There is also drug and alcohol screening, through urinalysis and breathalyzer.

If you don't have PTR in hand yet, here is what I looked up. It doesn't change much year to year. Slog through to the Induction Day info. Page 12 is the detail on entrance med testing.

As has been recommended many times across SAF, get shots before arrival, just to simplify life and avoid discomfort. There is nothing like trying to do push-ups with port and starboard upper arm soreness from multiple shots. If your usual health care provider won't cover, county health may, for a lesser fee.
