We emailed it to admissions, faxed it, and mailed it. Still no portal update since we got the word. At this point, I would not trust the portal if you are waiting.

Just called to be sure, said he was 'principal - fully accepted'. I guess that's the terminology.

Just an FYI that my DS was hard pressed to find a fax machine and he called Admissions and they gave him an email address. Seems like times have changed. Still make sure to mail it in and as @cousmma5280 says, Call and Verify!

My son was just notified today via email from the admissions office, and now we have a short decision-making period...by Monday! Making the decision a little more difficult, he just accepted a 4-year AFROTC scholarship this past Monday to Texas State. Two months ago this would be a no-brainer, but now!?!? We are super excited about this phenomenal opportunity, but are praying we make the right decision in the next few hours. This certainly takes the focus of today away from his prom tonight.....

I know...our plan B was in full swing to include campus visits, new campus orientation, and $150 worth of t-shirts for the family at the campus bookstore.

For those who have received their appointments in the past couple of weeks, first, congratulations, second, can you let us know how your were notified? Was it BFE, Call, Portal update, carrier pigeon or something else? Thx
 
Recieved an email this morning that DS had received an appointment to Merchant Marine Academy. BFE came a few hours later by FedEx. DS has only until Monday to make a decision.

Unfortunately we were not prepared for this appointment and it has caught us off guard. The MOC requested DS put in an application to USMMA. MOC gave DS a Principle Congressional Nomination to USAFA and Alternate Congressional Nomination to USMMA. We have been thinking USAFA since December. Now we are scrambling to find out everything we can about USMMA.

We have so many questions about USMMA.

Anyone with a DS or DD that is already attending USMMA that could answer questions would be greatly appreciated.

Not currently, but DS is 2013 grad and DD will be class of 2021. I will say that DS originally wanted USNA since he was 8 years old. Got wait-listed there, but got offer at KP. He is so happy to have had the opportunity to go to Kings Point, with being able to see the world (21 countries) during sea year and all the actual hands on experience USMMA has. DS is now a Navy pilot and his USNA friends are jealous of the extremely strong Kings Point bonds among alumni. He will tell you he is happy he did not get appointment to USNA and that he passed up NROTC scholarship to Texas A&M. I would be happy to answer any questions.
