My MOC told me there has been a huge renewed interest in the military since the Trump election. It's nice to have a President who vocally supports the military.

Can we keep politics off the forum. Your assertion that Obama did not support the military is wholly misguided. Furthermore, your back handed assertion that Democrats do not support the military is abhorrent. You will be serving with Democrats and Republicans all of which serve the USA with equal zeal.
As an officer, you will be required to refrain from advocating political parties or candidates while in uniform. Let's start here.

No politics intended. Only stating what MOC told me. I agree with you. My MOC is a republican and a former marine officer. He just stated the situation as he sees it. Sorry to offend.

Keep the faith, you have the right mindset, and exactly what the military needs if you are willing to wait for what you want. You will get it. Your credentials sound amazing. I agree we need to keep politics out of it, but also believe that we all can agree that this Country has slowly been going downhill for sometime, no fault of any one party. These are the kind of men and women, Republicans and Democrats that will make a difference. My son is a strong supporter of our party, but will certainly work side by side, hand in hand with anyone that is there to make this Country better. My father was in the Military before he was married, but other than that I do not have a strong tie to the Military, so my son going to Annapolis this year is a little scary for me. I do not care what color, race, sex, or political party any of these Plebes are, I just want them to have each others back and the County's best interest.

Again, work HARD this year, get great grades and start the process TODAY of reapplying. You will get it next year!!!! Keep positive, it is a goal worth fighting for.

I meant yours. Try explaining training time plummeting and the lack of spare parts. That’s just a start. Have you worked on the Hill? Do you know anyone who’s dealt with elected Dems on military appropriations under Obama.

I work with a ton of Dems who are intensely patriotic and very supportive of the military. Obama and Pelosi aren’t two of them.

My son has been Appointed, so I have no need to be on this Forum any longer. I am here to give support for those that are finding out that they did not make it this year, and hoping to persuade them the reapply, since I had people last year give my family the same support. Please realize that a lot of kids are coming here for advice. An innocent comment was repeated, that is it. We have all raised beautiful, intelligent kids, that are willing to be the next leaders of this Country, how about we concentrate on being PROUD, ans SUPPORTIVE!!!

Honestly - just stop with the politics. This is not the forum to do so. Go to FB if you want to rant on Democrats. I personally disagree with you all - but this is not the forum. JUST STOP NOW.

I am Adrain Johnson from Dallas. District 30. It is April 11 and I have 4 days until I am supposed to hear from the Academy. This entire month has been stressful and I was wondering if any one has had a recent appointment or notification of their application status this late in April.

Hi Adrain, You should find out one way or the other by the 15th. I know it is stressful, but they say nothing good every comes easy. I will have my fingers crossed for you. We went through this last year when our DS was wait listed. We got some amazing advice from amazing people. If you need someone to talk to that has been through it, or just need a pep talk, feel free to PM me. I can't say it enough, don't give up on your dream if you do not make it this year. This will determine the rest of your life. President Carter was turned down (I Believe) at least once if not twice before getting in and he is one of the most famous people to come out of the Academy. If this is not your year, work your butt off and make next year, Class of 2023 the year. I can tell you so many positive things about being a re-applicant,
When you start to think about quitting, remember why you wanted it in the first place.

Stop using your name on these posts!!!. DD met someone at Naval Academy Visitors Center before I-Day who had done a lot of personal named postings about how great she was. She was gone in the first week of Plebe Summer. Keep your comments private.

Don't worry about any other scores. There are Districts that have lots of qualified people, all with high ACT Scores/SAT scores, High GPA's, Volunteer hrs etc... and they do not get in for one reason or another. There are other Districts that are not so competitive that could not compete with the above stats (2022mom, by the way those are great stats), yet they do get in. There is no rhyme or reason, just the luck of who applies that year and it always changes. Do the best that you can do. If you did not make it this year, just put your nose to the grind stone and make a deal with yourself to have the best academic year you possibly can. That might mean a little less freshman fun, but it will be worth it. Push yourself hard if you really want it and if it was meant to be it will be. Sometimes it takes a little time to master the important things in life. I wish you the best and hope to see you listed as a USNA class of 2023.
