I had been on HOLD for about 2 months. Finally, on graduation day, I received a phone call from Commander Bedryk of USMMA and the office of my congressional nominator to let me know that my waiver had been processed and accepted and that I would be receiving my LOA. I was medically unqualified for the longest time and still managed to get an LOA 3 days ago. Theres still hope!

This is the easy part -- getting accepted. Get ready for a roller coaster year. 1st hurdle is INDOC. 2nd is the course work. 3rd is physical, mental, and emotional. Talk to your kids before they leave -- be honest and tell them this will be the hardest thing they have done in their live. If they have a boyfriend/girlfriend, they probably won't in a few weeks. Let them know this is a possibiltiy. We had a kid give up last year during INDOC caused he missed his girlfriend. Lastly, it will be hard as a parent when your kid does leave. You spent 18 years raising them and now you walk past an empty bedroom. It gets better though. :)

Well, I disagree. Many parents on the class facebook pages repeat what they read to their student and it gets back to the regiment. Not everyone is as discreet as they should be. Just a word of caution.

Be careful for sure what is said on class page right now, I know of at least 10 upperclassmen on the class of 2022 page. Also if any of you are planning on visiting the academy again be careful what you say on your visit. I've had a couple of my classmates encounter rude recruits, have recruits make poor remarks etc. and now they will be looking for them during indoc. Be careful on every social media platform and posting things about the academy, 2 class of 2021 candidates had posted something along the lines of "this doesn't look too bad" on a video of indoc and the Indoc cadre called them out, made them pt, and made them wear their comment taped to their shirt all day which drew plenty of attention to them.
