Class of 2024: The Journey Begins

That place is the so cold in the Summer. The best place on The Yard, when it's hot outside, bar none.

Thanks for the pictures. Mine was reporting to Mitscher Hall today where they could check-in to get a room night before. Texted us a picture of his room tonight but no idea if this is the permanent one for the summer. He reports officially tomorrow at 1:45. He was just so excited and "ready to go hard" as he said this morning. It made the hard goodbye at the airport today easier knowing how happy he was to start living his dream. Get 'em Navy!

My DS also reported yesterday to stay overnight at Mitscher Hall before his I day today. However, they went ahead and took him to his room at Bancroft. They gave him all of his boxes to unpack. They initially said they were going to take his phone, but allowed him to keep it. I tried to contact him this morning, but he hasn't replied. They must have had some things for him to do or they may have already started checking him in. His check in time was scheduled for 1000.

It sure does, considering applying for Summer Seminar started in December it is about 18 months ago. Long journey, lots of learning along the way. Wouldn't trade it for anything. PM me if you have any questions along the way.

DS reports at 10:15 tomorrow! I want to thank This SAF community for helping with in my own journey. So many different emotions and questions along the way. I stumbled upon the SAF after DS received nom and it started to become real. Signed right up to proudly post his appointment- and then poured over all info - quite regularly! Learned all about I-Day (pre-pandemic) then all the uncertainty and now finally here! As we wandered Annapolis, we found The Big Cheese, Iron Rooster, and so many others from your collective greatest hits. And yes, I was frying up bacon at 4:30 am pre-departure! Thanks for being with me along the way!
