Class rank?

Hi everyone, so my class rank is 13 out of 86 students, which is 15% in my class. Is this a competitive rank? My Gpa is about a 3.85 unweighted and 4.35 weighted... with 1 "B" in AP Literature. I'm waiting for my SAT scores but assuming by the last test I take(probably next August) is a 1350+, is this a competitive academic profile? By the end of senior year I will have taken 5 APs and honors/college credit courses for all but one course(core courses). I know academics is 60% of the formula and Leadership is 30%... I am solid on leadership with JROTC and 3 team captains junior year, and my CFA is really good. I could run on the track/xc team but I would be a preferred walk on- which I have heard does not affect admissions. Anyway, I'm getting off track... Is my academic profile competitive? I want to go to USMA/USNA more than anything in the world

Sean,

Ultimately, I could look at your profile and tell you anything, but in the end it just depends on the year and the area you are from. Your profile looks pretty good but there's a lot of factors that go into it. I would definitely recommend to keep putting in the work throughout your application process (showing that you have the capacity to continually improve and that you're determined to get into the Academy). Most of all though, if an Academy is where you really want to be, don't give up and always push forward. I came from one of the lesser competitive state with near the same looking profile (except more core classes) and it still took me two attempts. Never stop improving, the Academies look for those who choose to continually better themselves. Keep it up!

Class rank is becoming less and less important with colleges. Test scores are much more important.
