Does anyone know what the 2029 class size is? I have seen 1121, parents were saying 950 offered 810 accepted. I haven’t seen solid numbers.
950 offered would be low low, we expect to graduate in the 800-1000 range. 950 only offered would suggest they expect every single member to stay and have no one leave due to medical, ac pro, honor, or just because.Does anyone know what the 2029 class size is? So here are sources: 1121 comes from news report on YouTube about I-day, those numbers of course correlate to all prior classes. The “950-800-ish” number came from a parent that stated and ALO had shared it with her DS. The lower number was “sorta” confirmed at parents program yesterday by a civilian research associate that we ate lunch with. That is what I know at this point. I’m just curious on numbers because those seem like big variances and the local news channel video was very specific. The 1121 was found in the written title heading on YouTube.950 offered would be low low, we expect to graduate in the 800-1000 range. 950 only offered would suggest they expect every single member to stay and have no one leave due to medical, ac pro, honor, or just because.
I would bet money on the 1121 offered/accepted. 850 would cause a bigger stir, with 40 Squadrons this would mean only 21-22 per squadron entering. My squadron has reported 28-30 new basics btw. While we've had small classes before, the lowest entering class in the last 5 years was 26 with 1081 members entering.
Here's the break down of the classes from 22 on ( from the graduation data)
22-1434 received appointments, 1,182 inducted 863 graduated
23-1430 received appointments, 1155 inducted
921 graduated
24-1416 received appointments, 1164 inducted
974 graduated
25- 1428 received appointments, 1113 inducted
907 graduated.
26-unknown received, 1081 inducted ( told to 2026 throughout basic)
All of these classes graduated with above 850 members ( with exception of 26 because we're firstie) so 850 accepted with be very very risky form usafa standpoint.
I figured. I'm curious too as one of their seniors. Im sure they'll be told their numbers soon as most classes are. Either way they'll be a good class, 26 and 27 got them and knowing some of the recent changes to basic will help them too.So here are sources: 1121 comes from news report on YouTube about I-day, those numbers of course correlate to all prior classes. Hey Flyfalcon! I forgot you were a C1C. Congrats on beginning the final march to graduation. I hope you were able to give the new cadet basic’s the “guidance” they needed in a sibling like fashion (tongue planted firmly in cheek). The research associate agreed with this being a smaller class without confirming the numbers I had been told. So who knows.I figured. I'm curious too as one of their seniors. Without saying where I'm at right now, I'm enjoying the cadre doing their wonderful job. I'll be helping the basics with their weapons systems this year so my guidance is actually guiding this year and less loud correction like last year.Hey Flyfalcon! I forgot you were a C1C. Thanks and best of luck to you! I definitely didn’t want to ask for any identifying info to protect your identity, and keep other parents from getting weird. Also, a personal Thank you for taking time out to mentor our cadets. I’m not kidding when I say mentor. I watched some videos today. I saw examples of the yelling, it was nothing a parent should fear or worry about. Just getting them ready. My job in the ac year is actually even more heavy handed, and I'm the oldest sibling for the whole "house" in that position. I wonder if they'll be like 26 then with a lower number actually showing up on I day then expected. Would explain the numbers being all funky. Anyway best of luck to your DS!
The Web guy pix give some clues. Have to line them up right but looks like for sure 9 across, and either 15 or 16 deep. If 4 squadrons have 9x15=135x4=540. 4 squadrons have 9x16=144x4=576. 540+576=1116 cadets. Assuming all squadrons are roughly equal. Someone check how deep each squadron is. I am a little blurry-eyed.950 offered would be low low, we expect to graduate in the 800-1000 range. 950 only offered would suggest they expect every single member to stay and have no one leave due to medical, ac pro, honor, or just because.

I tend to think your numbers are about right. I think in the 1000 range as well. I know when we talked to the AOG on Monday, they were telling us for the social last year, there were about 1500 attendees. Remember, that’s appointees and parents and guests. That in mind, this year there were 3000 signed up to attend and judging from what I saw there, those numbers very well could have been right. And of course not all appointees came to it but basing things off the size registered being so large compared to the previous year, I’d absolutely expect 1000 plus. The Web guy pix give some clues. I was at '26's A-Day and was told it's a small class. IIRC there were quite a bit of no shows. They entered USAFA in 2022, right as things were starting or trying to reopen. It was a funky time. I recall asking the same question: if they'll adjust the follow year's class to fill the roster, and I was told no. They have a system, and they're not going to deviate when there's just one class that's smaller. Now, if over time, and by that it'd be a long time, they find that interest, applicants etc numbers drop, they may consider it, but with '27 having 1130, '28 with 1126, and now '29 with 1121, I'd say their pool is pretty consistent and not likely to change. It's not the most optimistic assumption for future candidates, unfortunately.Looking forward, does anyone know if the class of 2030 will have more slots than this year?

There was another that posted on the appointee group chat that they changed their mind and were going to do a year of prep and reapply, don't know exactly how that one will work out, but so be it, and also know of another that had a sports injury and will be deferring for a year. So you are right, we won't know till actual numbers are released but also expect it to be under 1121 but nowhere near 850-900.1,121 appointees

How many got off the bus and In Processed, we won't know until USAFA releases those numbers. We all already know that unfortunately, one Appointee was killed in a tragic accident in TX.
But how many reported?More numbers for those interested:
Class of 2025:
Appointments offered: 1428
Graduates: 909

But 26 has had good retention. They're at around 965 so only losing a bit over 100. The 26 cadet who survived the jump accident reclassed.I was at '26's A-Day and was told it's a small class. I guarantee it wasn't 1428,
But, "back in the day..."
The Class of 1983 enrolled 1508 and graduated 958.
Attrition rate of @36.5%.
