I am currently a sophomore in high school (class of 2019) but I have my sights set on a USMA nomination. I am currently registering for classes for next year. I would like to know which classes the academy would like to see on my transcript. My current schedule for next year is as follows:
-AP Bio
-AP US history
-AP Composition (English)
-Honors Math 3 (Integrated Math thanks to Common Core)
-AP Spanish

I have room for one more class, my question is whether I should take another science class and add in AP Physics, or if I should take my schools leadership class, which is responsible for planning rallies, school events and fundraising. I would appreciate any insight

In my honest opinion, take the leadership class. You are a sophomore and taking already a lot of AP classes. Do well in your classes first and take AP Physics next year. It's about getting good grades while having a tough schedule. If you take another AP classes especially a tough subject like Physics, it'll put a strain on your grades. I don't doubt your ability, just my 2 cents.

Your senior year class schedule and 7th semester grades will be submitted before the SA deadline; AP Physics will show up then [plus I hope calc or pre-calc.]
More important to knock out 'A's on what you have Jr. year.
IMHO you might want to try an advanced math course on the side even if its just a tutor or self paced online class etc. Good prep for SAT/ACT.

Not to mention spend the summer cramming lots of SAT/ACT practice tests [cheap] and test prep classes if you can afford them.

You did not mention sports - if you aren't already start working out from now til Sept and go out for 1 or 2 varsity programs [track / cross country and swimming count if team sports aren't an option.] Don't forget the study / sports time commitment balance; it pays dividends way beyond the application process !! Also you want to take the CFA before Xmas [earlier the better] but make sure you are in shape and have practiced the events.

I am currently running cross country and track, I haven't reached the times necessary for varsity yet but I am very close. I am also a leader of two clubs on campus and I am on our schools forensics team, and this week I'm running to be our class rally commissioner.

Keep running all summer !! Not to mention pushups, situps, and pullups every morning.
You should earn your letters Jr. year from the sound of it.

Agree with the other posters...don't overload too much your sophomore year. The sports and extracurricular activities are important as well. Save AP Physics and AP Chemistry for your junior and senior years. And, as MidwestDad mentioned, throw in a couple of higher level math courses Calculus in your junior and senior year.

I apologize if the original post was unclear, I am currently a sophomore, going into my junior year.

Well then, I guess you may need to up the ante then. Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus will be looked upon more favorably, but not at the expense of poor grades. Only you know what you can handle in the academic world.

Best of luck.
