Clearance Question

JPS, I sent you a PM.

Jcleppe, this is really just out of curiosity. Did FBI investigators complete your interviews? Just wondering, because I had an interview with a special agent from OPM. That was 2 years ago. I also met with another regarding someone elses clearance this summer. I do know you commissioned years ago and things have likely changed, I just asked out of curiosity.

My clearances were a little beyond the ordinary, There were FBI, Secret Service, NSA and a couple other alphabets involved. I don't think it was common for the FBI to complete some of the interviews, even back then.

Both my secret and TS were done by OPM. To my knowledge, the only reason you'd get investigated by the FBI is if you're assigned to work with them on some kind of interagency program or office.

The nice thing about having a secret clearance from ROTC is that (at least for me) when you go to complete the process for higher clearances, all of the info is already inserted in there. You just have to verify and update it. It's the beauty of technology.

FBI does all of their clearances in house.

PPS-Just don't lie about it. In some cases, lying about an offense is worse than actually committing the offense.
