Is there a club swim team at USAFA? I am a class of 2027 appointee and I heard one of the cadets in the virtual tour during the virtual appointee event say that they were on the club swim team but swim is not listed under the clubs page on USAFA's website. I am hoping to join the club team as I could maybe walk on to the IC team (my times are on the edge and I dropped an unexpected amount of time at the end of this season) but a club team is more of the commitment level I want. I was hoping someone had some information about the club team. Thank you!

Congratulations on dropping your time, it is very hard to do when you get to a certain level. My DS also class of 2027 is an IC and will be swimming for USAFA men's team. He was told by the USAFA men's coach to continue swimming till the day he leaves for BCT, so he can be in the best of shape when he arrive for BCT. So my advice to you is do the same and then try to walk on the team.

If I'm not mistaken they swim at least 6 or more times during BCT except when they are in Jack's Valley. I would assume like other IC sports, tryout will be during those time.When is tryouts? Triathlon Club has a lot of good swimmers on it. Just got back from Tulsa 70.3 and one of the members won the whole race!
Contact the coach directly, now. This is Division 1 sports, they don't have a "come tryout" day during BCT. I do know for cross country there are minimum times to even be able to try to walk on. I would suspect swimming is the same, but don't know for sure.When is tryouts?
