College Acceptance!

Alrighty y'all, another conflict it seems I have...

I received accepted to a college that is in my hometown, quite rather down the street 10 minutes away from me. It's name is University of Evansville, which has a 71% acceptance rate.

I've done all my research, etc, and I received a letter a couple days ago, stating my Scholarship Award (Note: tuition per year, private school = 36K/year), anyway my scholarship amount came out to be 18,000 dollars, per YEAR... I obviously calculated, and this is approximately very near 50% of tuition.

I also found out here on this webpage: https://www.evansville.edu/student-financial-services/aces-opportunity-grant.cfm; families who fall under the category of adjusted income under 50k/year, will qualify for the "Aces Opportunity Grant," in which combining all scholarships, plus FAFSA aid, the rest of what left of tuition will be covered by the university, essentially nothing to be "paid out of pocket" as quoted.

Here's the problem:

This University does NOT participate in ROTC programs; in which is why I am conflicted.

This seems like a great opportunity to receive the free education, and not have to worry about tuition.

Will this still look good for me, assuming that they don't have the ROTC Program? I can still take whatever difficult classes I can, and obviously I am still planning on reapplying to SAs for C/O 2027!

As aforementioned, this is my main worry, would I be good off here, and reapply to SAs assuming I do good, and take the so called "Plebe-Like" Schedule?

If anyone can chime-in, and feel free to look at the link, in case I may have misunderstood something.

Thank you for your time!

I can't read that without thinking

Yes. Take the Plebe-like schedule you can. After a year at UofE choose to stay you may, and join the Navy the OCS way.
Oh lord..... I had so much difficult reading this. lol.... My plan is to maybe attend here the first year, then apply again to SA's, I'm not really thinking about OCS right now.

TH is just implying you might want (or have) to stay at UofE and then your backup plan would come into play.
TH is making a play on Yoda's grammar, which is far different from that used by we mere humans, who are not strong in the Force.
