The last few bowl games have IMHO really proved that any system that uses arbitrary "rankings" to set up the playoff is just based on gibberish. Check out yesterday: TCU annihilated Ole Miss- though in the rankings they were a good match. #12 Georgia Tech schooled #7 Mississippi State (they were still #7 despite losing 3- because they were in the SEC !) though they were ranked well below them. Boise State- which was ranked 20 Manhandled Arizona in the 1st half and hung on to beat #10 Arizona. My prediction Baylor is gonna rip Michigan State a new one- just a guess though. And when they do- people are going to wonder again why Ohio State is in the Playoff (Scoupilot will have a different perspective ) and not Baylor or TCU, and why Alabama should be #1 given that they lost to Mississippi and squeeked past Miss State . The only way to do this is have a playoff that pits the conf winners from Big 12,Big 10, SEC, PAC12, ACC and Big East and forget the whole load of rankings nonsense. All else aside- it will be interesting to watch today though. Lots of Beer and Wings ready for the Football onlaught!!
