Hey guys, this may seem like a dumb question but oh well. So I've been waiting to hear back from NROTC in regards to whether or not I've been awarded the four year scholarship. I was wondering, should I apply for the College Program or wait to hear from NROTC? Thanks in advance!

Applying to be a "College Programmer" would be Battalion specific, it is not a national program. So, if you know what college you are going to, sure contact the battalion and let them know you are have applied for a NROTC scholarship, but if you are not award one you want to join as a college programmer. Find out what you need to do to join. Let us know the process. I have only seen one school that had an application.

I know the CP is battalion specific. I've applied to USNA and if I don't get that or the NROTC scholarship, I'd do the CP at OU.

From OU NROTC website http://www.ou.edu/content/rotc/nrotc/college-program.html
College Program applications are due no later than 1 May 2017. Interviews will be completed by 15 May 2017. Students will be notified by 1 June 2017. To receive an application contact LT Dunlavy at navalrotc@ou.edu.

Contact LT Dunlavy and get a copy of the application. Probably another essay, (and you thought you were done). It looks like last year's freshman class had 13 midshipman, and there other classes were similar in size, so there should be space.

Take a look at the OU NROTC publication "Flaghoist". http://www.ou.edu/content/rotc/nrotc/ou-nrotc-news.html Its a nice read.

Thank you! Another question I have is do I need to accept my admission to OU to apply? (Like I said I'm waiting to hear from USNA).

It is wise to move forward with Plans B, C, etc. Best to ask that question to the battalion to see how they handle it.
