Did anyone here go to college and apply to USMMA?

Im in college right now and my gpa is around a 3.57 almost in my sophomore year.
My high school gpa wasn't as good, lol. I intend to apply for the class of 2016.

Can anyone tell me there experience of applying and going to USMMA as a former college student?

Thanks

Last year's valedictorian came to KP after 2 years of college.

DD / NMMI

My DD went to New Mexico Military Institute for 2 years as a SELF - PREP and graduated with her Associates in Science before being accepted and attending USMMA. She is a 1/c (Senior) this year. The extra 'experience' and maturity has
helped her in her 4 years at USMMA.

You will still need to go through all the application process like any other student. Contact the USMMA Admissions and they would be able to help you more specifically as you apply. Realize, that you will NOT be able to transfer any credits.

If your heart is set on this line of career, then DO apply to the other Maritime schools in the US. Perhaps many of your credits would transfer.

Thanks for the replies.
Im not really worried about the credits I'm losing out on.
I really want to go to KP for once in a lifetime opportunity of attending.

Moose mom did she apply after her first year at NMMI? If so, do you know why she wasn't accepted? If I'm prying into personal matters to much please forgive me. Its good to know that her maturity helps.

I considered NMMI as a self prep but it was a little to expensive for me.

Hopefully Im accepted when I apply.

There are a number of current midshipmen who went to college prior to USMMA, actually there is a plebe there now who graduated last May from JMU and wanted to attend KP and started all over as a freshman (plebe) last July :)
