The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Capt. Nathan R. Raudenbush, 25, of Pennsylvania, died Feb. 20 in Busayefi, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.
Captain Raudenbush graduated from Widener University in Chester PA in 2005. He went through the Army ROTC program there for 4 years and was commissioned after graduation.
He had been approved for Captain and was promoted posthumously. He leaves behind a wife (also a Widener grad) and a 20 month old son.

Widener University has already offered Capt. Raudenbush's son a $100,000 college scholarship if he chooses to attend.

Good for them. That really says alot. Great for this college.

That touches that little sensitive side of me that my parents and girlfriend see.

So sad for the Raudenbush family. What a wonderful gesture by the college.

And I thought by the title of your thread, that this would be a discussion of poor treatment toward ROTC students by a college.
