The very last thing pending on my son's application is his first semester college transcript. It was sent by the college around December 15 and his portal still shows that it has not been received. Should he be concerned? How long could it take to be posted since there was a holiday? He called the university to verify that it has been sent. He's anxious to have a completed application. Thanks for any advice.

Since it was mailed during the holiday period, I'd give it two weeks before sweating it.

DS is in the same boat. Sent 12/19 (email and regular mail); still not posted. Like ktnatalk said, not worried, yet...

I sent an email to my Admissions Officer just seconds ago inquiring about this same issue. Glad to hear I'm not the only one! My transcripts were sent to the Academy on 12/23 and have not been posted yet.

Folks, 4-6 weeks should be your standard window -- especially with the holidays. I would only be concerned towards the end of January.

I meant to say two more weeks from today. Even with what my trusted usnabgo08 said, I am betting on max 3 weeks from today. Tell me if I got it right! ;)

I sent my dual enrollment college transcript 12/19. It still does not show on my portal, but my "admissions examiner" informed me that she received it today, 1/4. Perhaps they have it, it just hasn't been added to the portal.

Sounds like my DS shouldn't be too worried yet. I'm sure USNA is feverishly getting all sorts of information entered for thousands of applicants. Being a 2nd time applicant, he just wants to be reviewed sooner rather than later in hopes of securing an appointment before they're all filled, so to speak. His nomination source said "competitive" and not "principal" so he thinks there's less of a chance, although he doesn't know if the slate is actually ranked or not. The word "competitive" just makes him think it is. Oh, the wait... again.

We checked with the university and they sent it snail mail on Dec 21. DS checks his portal multiple times a day! He's getting so nervous. I'm sure it will be fine. It's just the end of a very hard road the second time around!

My DD had a similar issue. Her transcripts showed received but the application still showed "Incomplete." She called her counselor and was told that it will remain incomplete until they receive her Spring transcripts since she is currently enrolled for spring classes. Just to make sure she doesn't bomb in the spring. She also told her that her file has already been reviewed and a decisions has been made but she wouldn't tell her what that decision was, said she would probably be notified in Feb-March. Not sure if that's a good or bad sign.

Wow, that doesn't sound right to me. College transcripts for Fall 2016 should show on the portal when received. Sounds like DS needs to make a call himself.

Anne: Another data point for you, my DS' transcript posted yesterday after being sent on 12/19. Back to the dreaded "complete pending review."

Similar experience for DS, transcript mailed by university 19 Dec, still not posted. DS called USNA Admissions today, and they refused to verify if transcript has been received and awaiting someone to post it on the portal. Told him to contact his admissions counselor who has not responded to a single email or phone call since starting process. When admissions heard name of counselor (LT), they replied lots of luck hearing back from him.

Wow - I didn't know they did that. Actually making a decision and not telling you what decision is until later? I would like to believe that it is a good sign that they would like to see the spring transcript otherwise why would they need it if a decision was No?

DS did get in touch with his Admissions Counselor and was told it takes 4-6 weeks to post. He didn't like that. So what happens if they never receive it for some USPS reason and the application deadline passes?

Norfolk, my DD emailed several times as well and has still never received a response, she finally got through to someone after several phone calls.

DS said his transcript finally posted today. Mailed by the university in Texas on 21 Dec. Posted on portal 11 Jan. He was just about to call admissions tomorrow. Complete Pending Review. The true wait begins.
