College v. Academy

As others have said its hard to tell commissioning source unless you really ask as it doesn't come up much unless the convo steers that way. We had a few USMA grads in my BOLC who platoon were kinda sheepish about admitting it because we razzed them a bit after they confirmed it. We said we wouldn't take them out to clubs and bars because we didn't want them to be socially awkward :p. Honestly though they were pretty cool guys and one of them without a doubt will be a terrific leader.

Didn't see any rings come out even on the weekends.

I am definitely proud of where I went to school and if someone asks I will tell them. I generally do not volunteer the information unless specifically asked the question. I am from the west coast and I am often asked how I ended up out east. I tell them I went to college here. I do have tons of Navy basketball gear and mostly wear it to work out in, do yard work or lounge around the house. I wear my ring probably once a week. The other day my Colonel was sitting next to me and started to looking at my ring. He finally said, "I had no idea you want to the Naval Academy." Like most have stated here already, I think we are all proud of where we went to school, but do not want to come off as being arrogant or fit the "ring knocker" stereotype.
