My son is scheduled for his eye exam next week. We are fully aware that he is colorblind. What will the process be like? We he be given a remedial? Will they give him additional red/green tests right on the spot?

Anyone have any idea of the process?
Thanks!

Depends on the service branch he wishes to join.

For Coast Guard - Color blindness is a disqualification not waived.

Other services have their own criteria.

I should have clarified. He has been awarded an AROTC scholarship, and he had his physical appt last week. The eye appointment is set for next week.

Thanks again,
the Mom

He must pass a Vivid Red/Green test:thumb:

Thanks for the info. I'm sure he'll pass the vivid red/green test.

Will they administer that on the spot? Or will he be given a remedial and then have to return for that test?

Does anyone know?

He will be administered that test during the exam:thumb:
