hello, I was just wondering if belonging to the Combat Shooting Team counts as your sport. Also, if you participate in the bodybuilding or power lifting club, will that take the place of an intramural, or is it just a club? Lastly, my main goal is to commission as a pilot, and are belonging to aviation programs/clubs beneficial to getting the pilot slot? thanks.

Combat Shooting has Limited On-Season (LOS) status so it gets you out of training sessions and intramurals as a 4-degree because you'd be at practice with the team during that time after school. That being said it is known to have one of the hardest tryouts at the Academy so be in top shape if you're looking to pursue that. To my knowledge bodybuilding and power lifting do not have LOS status so they are just clubs. I believe Falcon Crossfit does have LOS though.

As for the pilot slot the short answer is that it depends but mostly no. Flight hours factor into your PCSM score along with the TBAS but just being in a club doesn't necessarily get you into the cockpit and getting hours. Having a high GPA/class rank is the most important part in getting the career you desire.
