Commandant's Culminating Exercise/CULEX/ Crucible

I hope they'll let the cadets have some fun with the Airsoft/Paintball equipment whenever it arrives. Maybe a lil end of the Academic Year morale boost or something. Goodness knows morale has been at an all time low since the beginning of the AY. And the Comm knows it. He conducted the survey and delivered the results himself.
Are you sure Airsoft/Paintball equipment is still coming?

If they thought morale was low before, wait until the end of the semester. The 27's commitment number should be interesting....

I have no idea if they're still coming. I gathered by comments in this post saying they were late, which usually means it's still arriving. If they were smart, they wouldn't have canceled the order, let them arrive late, let the cadets have some fun with it at the end of the AY, then save it for next year's culex/recognition/dodo bird. AF has the "nerdy branch" stereotype, after all.

While doing mundane housework, I wondered, and chuckled to myself, what the retention/attrition rate will look like.

I wonder what it would have looked like if the 26ers could have made the decision 1 month into restrictions without food?

Again, mundane work thoughts:
Civil War reenactment
WWII rationing reenactment
Hunger Games (supt can be President Snow)
all would have been better, more enriching, warfighting preparatory, entertaining than what they actually got.

Changed this semester
I don't know if it is true, but I heard it is because they have to make up for many snow days they had this year. I have a senior and a freshman. They are making it difficult for my freshman to want to stay. They NEVER let the kids, all four classes, leave. Even if a parent comes to visit, the kids have to use a sacred pass to go see the parents. They way they did passes until this year was so much better. Not as much freedom as a civilian college, but they are really making it miserable for the cadets this year. The pass system seems. bit archaic to me.

Exactly the reason I was given. I would recommend they put in for a personal SCA, they'll know what that means. If they have military training it could get them a pass to leave if approved. It's looking like 17th will be a prep day so possible excusal needed.

I have to continuously help out my sophomores with staying. I don't force my opinion but I do try to say, " remember to be running towards something, not away" so if they do want to leave I get it but always have a plan not just trying to escape.

According to the Group 3 commander, 96 hours is still a thing. I think this is just a cadet rumor that's run amok.

Having said that, the lack of communication from USAFA is stunning. Gen Marks can't be gone soon enough. Truly one of the most pathetic leaders I have seen in nearly 40 years.

Yup! Marks lost even before he started!!! Following a Gen Moga was never going to be winning situation for anyone, dude was a true warrior and the cadets loved him. Gen Marks came in soft and never garnered any respect from the cadets.
