Commission in December vs May

My DS is a cadet in AROTC. He started college in Spring semester his freshman year because he went to NG BCT/AIT first. I’m wondering if there’s any benefit/disadvantage to commissioning in December vs May. Is Branching any more/less competitive if you graduate and commission in the winter?

Short answer no. Both go through accessions in the fall. With talent based branching cadet command is saying dec grads will commission not knowing their branch. But then get them with everyone else in Jan. So it will be a quick turn in Jan to go to BOLC.

If you pick Guard/Reserve you’ll know quicker what your branch is.
