DS just received notification that his disenrollment board is recommending no punishments, that he continue to be enrolled and commissioned. This process has taken almost TWO YEARS. The process was initiated the week prior to graduation. The school cleared him of any wrong-doing and issued his degree within 60 days of the complaint but the Army took 20+ months to complete their investigation/review and hearing process. Because he graduated he’s not on campus or anywhere near the university. It’s been a challenging situation as he’s been in limbo this entire time and working odd jobs never knowing when the Army would finish things up and expect him to report. His PMS has been almost completely incommunicado. The board’s recommendations are still pending final acceptance and approval by the CG which we expect in the next couple weeks.

Question is what now??? He did Advanced camp during COVID so it was the much condensed 2 week “Agile Leader” course. The permission for that to replace Adv Camp has expired. Will they make him wait until this summer to attend Adv Camp and then commission? Will they make him go back through the branching process? He originally ADSO’d for duty location that he no long wants because he was supposed to go there with his GF (now Wife) who is also AD and if he were to go to the location where she’s been stationed for the last 2 yrs he’d be arriving just as she’s leaving for her CPT Career Course. The whole thing is a giant mess and they’re completely out of sync now as they’ll be two YGs apart for schools and assignments and promotions and boards their entire career. They’ll be eligible for the Married Couples Program but that can only do so much.

Will they likely seek to commission him ASAP and get him to the first school slot available or does he just go into the mix with others graduating this Spring and get a school slot sometime in the next 6-12 months? Are they going to need to re-do all of his commissioning physicals and assessments?

So much relief that after all this time he’s been cleared - it’s been an exhausting and stressful time and now he has so many questions about the way forward.

Does anyone have experience with situations like this?
