We just got back from our DD's Commissioning and Graduation Weekend. Despite the rain, it was a glorious weekend! It's amazing how quickly the 4 years went by. Her NROTC commissioning class had 22 Midshipman make it through the 4 years. I believe there were 32 who started 4 years ago. The attrition came from several sources over the 4 years: 1 went to USNA, 1 left to join the Seminary to become a priest, a couple didn't pick up scholarships so they left the program, a couple of injuries, 1 who couldn't pass PFT, 1 overweight and a couple who decided the military was not for them. It was challenging to graduate in 4 years with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and the demands of NROTC. She graduated with 148 credits, which averaged 18.5/semester. She is looking forward to her first assignment in San Diego as a SWO!

Congrats. Looks like she has great discipline, and will do well as an officer. What school did she graduate from? Enjoy the moment and the pride!

Congrats! My DS graduated from ND last year and is in Corpus completing Primary (aviation). Commissioning and graduation were extraordinary and one of my proudest moments so I know how you feel...my younger DS is a rising sophomore at ND...his NROTC class is very small...only 17...the rigors of an engineering degree and graduating in 4 years are rough but worth it...congrats again!

I feel like it's a common theme each year that someone at Notre Dame drops to go to seminary. I know a couple guys who've done that
