Communities Firmed Up

DS call tonight to let us know that his class all got the firm word on their communities today. All except one got what they wanted. Very few slots for EOD, the one Mid was bumming but she also understood. My DS got SWO. PT for the Seniors was canceled tomorrow. I guess it is customary to go out and enjoy the evening but not to excess.

DD let us know that everybody, but 1, got their first choices at her unit as well, including one female who got subs. Lots of happy Midshipmen there tonight!

BT - How does your DS get his ranking for ship selection?

Not so sure on the ranking for his ship selection; however he really liked the LPD he was on and they liked him. Because of the timing; the LPD he was on will be coming off deployment and going into the yards. The command on that ship is recommending him for another LPD that I think is scheduled to get deployed soon after he commissions. He liked the sound of that. I will update no matter which ship he gets on. You know how it goes.... Underway shift colors, haze gray and underway! Boy do I ever miss hearing that, I sure do hope for a tiger cruise.
