Companies

This is just my understanding, but I believe on I-day your put into a company which serves as your plebe summer company. Once your plebe summer is completed you are put into your academic company not based off academics or physical performance, but just as another scramble. That will serve as your official company for your time being at USNA. That is unless you get transferred to another company or etc. You et my point. At least that is how it is done at USMA. Hope that helps.
 
It's my understanding that about 10 days prior to I-Day we will get notice as to what company for summer, so your mailing address can be distributed to family etc.
 
you will receive your company assignment in June, prior to your arrival on I-Day.


Informational:
Your summer assignment may appear as O-27, or O-28 for example- meaning you will be in "O" or "oscar" company for the summer (which combines plebes for both 28 and 28 companies), however at the completion of plebe summer, when the Brigade reforms, you will align with your assigned company- 27 or 28... and "O" or "Oscar" gets put away until next summer arrivals.

Alpha: Companies 1 and 2
Bravo: Companies 3 and 4
Charlie: 5 and 6
Foxtrot: 7 and 8
etc...

P is the last summer company, and will break into 29 and 30 following reform.
 
Just wanted to say, thanks for this post, I've been dying to know when we'll find out our companies for a long time now.
 
Tango Company

This is actually the last Summer Company. Let's hope nobody ends up in that one...shipping out!
 
Sounds like the class of 2012 had the least number in Tango ever... maybe 2013 can get even fewer!! :thumb:

Of course that will make for a really BIG Brigade - they may have to create a Papa company! :yllol:
 
actually I was told that nexxt year the brigade was being exxpanded to include 36 companies and not just 30 anymore. At least that is what were told up here at NAPS...
 
hmmmm, then what happens to Tango? does it get regular status and Whiskey becomes the on-the-way-out company??
